The Journey
Two extraordinary countries, one seamless journey. This itinerary crosses the continent from the Pacific coast of Chile to the Atlantic edge of Argentina — through colonial cities, alpine lake districts, ancient volcanic landscapes, Patagonian glaciers, and the Beagle Channel at the end of the earth. The Cruce Andino is one of the world's great travel experiences: a crossing by bus and boat through a chain of Andean lakes from Puerto Varas to Bariloche that has been made by adventurous travellers since the early 20th century. We treat the border not as a complication but as the centrepiece of the journey.

Your Journey, Day by Day
Days 1–3 · 3 nights
Santiago, Chile
The journey begins in Chile's capital — a sophisticated city at the foot of the Andes with a thriving food scene, world-class contemporary art, and the vineyards of the Casablanca and Maipo valleys within an hour's drive. Three nights for the city, a private wine excursion, and preparation for the journey south.
Days 4–5 · 2 nights
Puerto Varas, Chile
Fly south to Puerto Montt and transfer to Puerto Varas — a small city on the shores of Lago Llanquihue with the Osorno volcano reflected perfectly in the water. Two nights based here before the great crossing begins. Germanic architecture, lake seafood, and the sense of standing at the edge of something wild.
